Canoe Adventures

"Wherever there is a channel for water, there is a road for the canoe."   - Henry David Thoreau

There are times when a solo paddle, with no others around is what you need to refresh the mind and body. And yet, other times we need to meet up with like minded paddlers to share the moments.

Rio Chama

Rio Grande - Northern Wild and Scenic

The Rio Grande starts up in Colorado and continues down to the Gulf Of Mexico. In the Northern parts as it enters New Mexico it goes from calm to class VI.

Above shows the Rio Grande right at the southern county line in Taos, NM. Below are paddlers on the section known as the Race Course. The large boulder on the bank, river right in the center, came crashing down into the river in the early 1990's.

And a bit farther up river, closer to the Junction bridge, it is more of a class 1 or 2 depending on flow. It was about 211 cfs in these photos.

Add to the information, send me a GPS location and a description if you have a favorite place to share.
